Substitute Teachers and Paraprofessionals

Interesting in being a substitute teacher or substitute paraprofessional at the Huron Learning Center, Huron Area Technical Center, or any of our local schools of your choosing?  You choose the days and times that work with your schedule.  All subs are contracted through Professional Educational Services Group (PESG).  Create a username and password and complete the entire application. Educational requirements to become a Substitute are the following: Substitute Paraprofessional: High School Diploma, or GED,  Substitute Teacher: 90 credits from one or more accredited 2 or 4 year college or university.  Official transcripts must be submitted either electronically from the school or in hard copy by the college/university. 

In addition to the online application and web class training modules, PESG will be available at the Huron ISD to verify identification, scan paperwork, and answer any questions an applicant may have.  They will be available on the following dates from 9:30 – 10:30 am unless otherwise noted: August, 17th “JOB FAIR 9:30 – 12:30”, September 14, October 12, November 9, December 7, 2017, January 25, February 22, March 22, and April 26, 2018.  If you are unable to attend one of the meetings to submit your I-9 paperwork/identification, that can be brought with you to the fingerprint appointment at the Huron ISD.

Fingerprinting can be done on any meeting day, or by calling Julie Toner at (989) 269-3467 to schedule an appointment.  The cost to be fingerprinted is $ 56.50.
