🦉 Happy Constitution Day from the Hoots!

On September 17, our GSRP classroom family celebrated Constitution Day by creating our very own Social Contract through Capturing Kids’ Hearts! ❤️
Together, our little Hoots decided on the promises we will follow to help keep our classroom safe, kind, and FUN!

To officially “sign” our new classroom law, each Hoot chose a color, painted their hand, and added a bright handprint signature to our Social Contract. 🎨🖐️

The promises are made, contract is signed, and our classroom family is ready for a fantastic year of learning, growing, and caring for one another!
Way to go, Hoots! 🦉💙❤️

⚽🦁 A Great Day for HLC Soccer! 🦁⚽

On September 18, Huron Learning Center students took to the soccer field for a fun and exciting game against students from Tuscola ISD Highland Pines!

We are proud of our students for showing teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit throughout the game. Opportunities like this give our students a chance to build friendships, stay active, and enjoy some friendly competition with students from neighboring schools.

A big thank you to Tuscola ISD Highland Pines for joining us and helping make the day such a memorable experience!

👏 Great job to all of the students who participated!

❤️ Capturing Kids' Hearts at Huron Learning Center ❤️

To kick off the school year, Huron Learning Center staff joined educators from across Huron County to participate in Capturing Kids' Hearts® training, a professional learning experience focused on building meaningful relationships, fostering positive school culture, and creating environments where every student feels valued, connected, and supported.

Throughout the training, staff collaborated with colleagues, reflected on practices that strengthen connections with students, and explored strategies that help create safe, engaging learning environments where all students can thrive. The experience reinforced a shared commitment to building strong relationships as the foundation for learning and growth.

As we continue the school year, HLC is excited to put these principles into action each day, ensuring every student knows they belong, their voice matters, and they are capable of success.

Thank you to all of our staff members for investing in this important learning opportunity and for the difference they make in the lives of students every day.

💚 Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

We love seeing our educators show up in support of mental health and one another! These staff members rocked their T‑Shirt Tuesday gear with a powerful message: The more you know, the less you judge.

Thank you for helping foster understanding, compassion, and care—our students (and each other) benefit every day.

Five educators stand side by side indoors in a school multipurpose space. All are wearing black T‑shirts with green and white text that reads, “The more you know, the less you judge – Mental Health Awareness.” Several are wearing jeans. The background includes a light-colored wall, ceiling beams, and folded cafeteria tables.
Two educators stand together inside a classroom. One is wearing a black “The more you know, the less you judge – Mental Health Awareness” T‑shirt, and the other is wearing a gray T‑shirt that reads “Progress over perfection” with a pencil graphic. The classroom background includes cubbies, hanging coats, posters, and educational materials.
💚👕 The message doesn’t stop with one week—it continues every Tuesday in May! 👕💚

Through T‑Shirt Tuesdays, our educators are helping normalize conversations about mental health, modeling empathy, and reminding students (and each other) that support matters. 💬✨

We are so grateful for educators who care for minds and hearts—during Educator Appreciation Week and all year long. 💚🍎

Let’s keep the conversation going!

🍎💚 Educators Appreciation Week + Mental Health Awareness Month = Teachers Leading with HEART! 💚🍎

This week—and every Tuesday in May—our incredible educators are doing more than teaching lessons. They’re starting conversations, breaking down stigma, and showing students that mental health matters. 👕🧠✨

From wearing powerful messages to modeling kindness, empathy, and support, our staff reminds us that caring for our mental health is just as important as caring for our minds. 💬💪

Thank you to our educators for showing up for students (and each other!) every single day. 💚 We appreciate you—this week and always!
