Today our 1st year Health Science students got to travel to Hurley Medical Center to experience healthcare at a large hospital! They were professionally dressed in their scrubs and got to experience a true life job shadow!

Ms. Chelsea, School Counselor, works will all HATC students on employability skills through mini lessons. Today's lesson was with electrical students on communication.

It’s been a fast and furious 4 weeks for our 1st year Careers in Education students! They have been working hard and have officially completed ALL of their mandatory trainings! Now it’s on to Principles of Development and Developmental Theory as they continue building their knowledge and preparing for their future careers in education. We wrapped up this week with lesson planning as we prepare for preschool to begin. And next week… it’s time to add another important skill to their toolbox! Our students will become CPR and First Aid certified! 

Health Science II students are deep-diving into the cardiovascular system! They've also created lab coats to display all of their accomplishments. We are super proud of these students and their instructor!

Marketing students took the "Umm Challenge" in class this week where they had to work in groups to talk about a topic and could not use the word "umm". What a great way to practice their presentation and communication skills!

Health Science I students wore PPE and completed a “just dance” video to experience how it might be to wear PPE for an extended period of time! They loved this experience and how it related to healthcare!

1st year Construction & Electrical students are learning measurement and accuracy as well as safe tool use while they create sawhorses to specs.

Electrical seniors love playing in the big sand pit! Here they are working as a team to trench and lay conduit, which includes bending it to fit the curves of the trenches.

Power Tech, Auto, and CAD students have completed two Snap-On precision measurement certifications already this year! This is a great example of student cross-curricular exposure and staff teamwork! Congratulations to all who have gained this certification!

Electrical seniors are getting to work in high places with some great views!
